Vibrant, progressive and multicultural, Berlin has been a pioneer in the gay rights movements since the late-19th century. Delve into the city’s LGBT history on this walking tour through the historical and culturally rich neighborhoods of Schöneberg and Kreuzberg. Visit one of the city’s oldest trans* bars; stroll through Tiergarten and learn about the LGBT figures who have shaped the city’s history; and visit the Gay Museum* (Schwules Museum*), the world’s first gay museum.
Explore areas such as Schöneberg, Tiergarten and Kreuzberg with your expert guide.
Retrace the history of the gay culture in Berlin from the 19th century to today.
Learn about the gay community and its main personalities such as Marlene Dietrich and Mayor Klaus Wowereit.
Visit the Gay Museum* (Schwules Museum*) for a deeper comprehension of LGBT history and culture.
