Amalia Eriksson Statue - Amalia Eriksson Staty

Feminist Cocktail Hour #32: Polkagris Kram (Amalia Eriksson)

Today I'm honoring Amalia Eriksson the Swedish entrepreneur who overcame tremendous personal tragedy to bring us one of the most delightful treats of all time.

1.5 oz. Vanilla Vodka
1.5 oz. Peppermint Schanpps
1.5 oz. White Chocolate Liqueur
Dash of Grenadine

**My episodes are generally researched, filmed and posted in just a few hours. I strive for accuracy, but occasionally there are errors or omissions.

--I am certain I am pronouncing every Swedish word wrong. If you are Swedish or speak Swedish... my sincerest apologies.

--I skipped some information about how Amalia was orphaned. Basically her mother died when she was very young and her father and at least one of her siblings died during the cholera epidemic. The details are not totally clear (because of recording keeping in the mid 1800's), but by age 10 she had lost her entire immediate family.
