As part of the “Adventures in Imagination” area of the Dollywood Theme Park, there’s a museum dedicated to the life and career of Dolly Parton – a singer, songwriter, record producer, multi-instrumentalist, author, businesswoman, and philanthropist. Parton is primarily known for her work in country music, and after decades of dreaming, she decided to inspire others to follow their own dreams and established the museum.
In the Chasing Rainbows museum, one is invited to follow Parton’s path, from her childhood in the mountains of East Tennessee to the grandest stages around the world.
Among the variety of stories and memorabilia are the collection of hand-written lyrics, plaques commemorating gold and platinum records, pictures of the star with her family and friends from different stages in her life, a display of costumes and wigs from her movie career, and gowns she wore to concerts and award shows, including the Grammy, Country Music Association and People’s Choice Awards.
There is also a chance to get a sneak peek at Parton’s life on the road when you walk into her tour bus that is located in front of the museum.
