    A monument honoring and commemorating the legacy of Sojourner Truth – a former slave, abolitionist, women’s rights activist, and an advocate for equality and justice for all sexes and races.
    At the memorial stands a bronze statue of Sojourner Truth surrounded by plants and informational plaques about her story, lifework, and the Northampton Association of Education and Industry, the Utopian pacifist community that Truth was one of its members.
    The statue was created by Thomas Jay Warren and was unveiled in 2002.
