This self-guided tour will walk along Inman Square and highlight the women who contributed to the second wave of the feminism revolution from the 1970s to the 1990s. Created by the Cambridge Women’s Commission and focuses on key moments, places, and events led by local activists and businesswomen.
The tour starts at the Clayground – a woman-owned pottery business and ends at the 40-foot mural at Inman Square Firehouse. Along the way you will pass by historic sites, such as the New Words Bookstore which became a “cultural hub” for feminist activists from all around the world, the Massachusetts Feminist Federal Credit Union, the women’s health center and the Child Care Resource Center, as well as restaurants, shops, and various collectives, all led by women and for women.
