A life-size bronze statue of the legendary English singer and songwriter Amy Winehouse stands at the heart of the Stables Market in Camden Town, a neighborhood that was her home, hang-out place, where she created her music and even sang for the last time.
Amy Winehouse (1983-2011) was a famous, award-winning singer. Her two studio albums sold millions of copies around the world. She died of alcohol poisoning when she was only 27 years old, entering the 27 Club, with a list of musicians and artists who died at 27, like Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, and more.
The statue, created by Scott Eaton, depicts Winehouse in her famous pose and outfit – high heels, tiny dress, and her trademark beehive hairdo. It immortalizes her young, at the peak of her success, and invites her fans to interact.
Unveiled on a day that would have been her 31st birthday. Her parents attended the unveiling ceremony, together with her fans who arrived from all over the world.
