Guided * Outdoors * 3/6 Hours
Tours that follow Harriet Tubman’s life as an escaped slave who led dozens of people to their freedom, and about slaved people who lived in this area.
Visit historic sites where slaves were brought into the US and sold. Learn about the abolitionists and their strategies to secure enslaved people’s freedom, and hear about the challenges enslaved people faced, both as slaves and as free people adjusting to their new lives.
Harriet Tubman Tours is offering a half-day guided tour of 3 hours and an extended guided tour of 6 hours. The extended tour will cover more significant places related to Tubman’s life, including “Webb Cabin” – a hidden place for freedom-seekers, the Thompson Farm – the plantation Tubman escaped from, and the Linchester Mill, where enslaved and free black people worked together and passed intel.
There are also add-on options, as a cruise on a skipjack, tour the waterways by bike or a kayak, go eagle-watching at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, or browse through galleries and local shops.
